Lani Franks

I am currently in my second year of college in the Kinesiology pre-physical therapy program. When I am not studying or doing homework, I go surfing! My favorite thing to do is sit on my board at sunset waiting for a wave. Its peaceful, calming, and reassuring.

CHARACTERS PERFORMED

Back-Ho Betty and Sunny Shade/Michaels. I visualized myself in Back Ho Betty and Sunny Shade's scenes. I imagined what was around me: the noises, smells, what I was wearing, who I was talking to, and how this character would talk based on her environment.

FAVORITE DBB CHARACTER

Back Ho Betty!! She is hilarious!

FAVORITE DBB ART

The Matos Mob

FAVORITE LINES

I had a blast performing all of Betty's lines because of the humor behind them. My favorite was when I accidentally said "ringer on my finger" instead of "ring on my finger" and George liked it so much he decided to keep it!

FAVORITE DBB SONG

Maybe a little bias, but I love Back Ho Betty's song!

HOW DID YOU LEARN ABOUT DEVIL'S BACKBONE: THE INVISIBLE WALLS OF SEVEN MILE?

I learned about Devil's Backbone: The Invisible Walls of Seven Mile from Alyssa Janeway.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A VOICE ACTOR?

I love that the skill of voice acting is all vocal rather than visual. I feel more comfortable hiding behind a microphone and being able to perform multiple characters. For me it was spontaneous! I looked over the lines and was asked to perform them, which left little room for overthinking.

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE BOOK?

From what I've heard so far it is very interesting and funny. I am excited to hear the final product because of the hard work everyone put in.

HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE STUDIO?

I had so much fun in the recording studio. My cheeks hurt by the end of the session from smiling so much. Everyone was laughing, encouraging, enthusiastic, and supportive. Even their dogs joined us! Don't worry they got lots of attention

It was a pleasure to work with George Caudill, Brandon, and Lisa. After finishing a scene you could see the biggest smile on George Caudill's face from seeing his writing come to life. He couldn't help but share other recordings and progress they made on this project. AMAZING STUFF!!! It was an honor working for them and I can't wait for what the future holds.
